Air Force fencing competes at the 2025 NCAA Fencing Championships, which runs Thurs.-Sun, March 20-23 at the Multi-Sport Facility & Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track on the campus of The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pa. The Falcons have three cadet-athletes competing.
All three competitors for the Falcons compete in the epee weapon. On the women's side, junior Ellie Kim and sophomore Christina Watrall will be competing. On the men's side, junior Omar Emara will represent Air Force.
The National Collegiate Men's and Women's Fencing Championships include individual events in each of six weapons (men's épée, men's foil, men's saber, women's épée, women's foil and women's saber).
Fencers will compete in a round-robin format of five-touch bouts. After round robin, the top-four finishers in each weapon will fence in semifinal 15-touch bouts, with winners fencing to determine first and second places, and non-advancing fencers being awarded a tie for third place.
An institution's place finish in the championships will be based on points earned by each individual. A team will be awarded one point for each victory by its student-athletes during round-robin competition.
For more information about the championships, log on to ncaa.com and gopsusports.com. A live feed of semifinal and final bouts will be available online via ESPN+ on March 21 and 23 at 1:30 pm ET. A two-hour edited show will air on ESPNU on April 9 at 8 pm ET.
