
Emara and Watrall Earn Titles At MPSF Fencing Championships

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force fencing hosted the 2025 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Fencing Championships Sunday at the Cadet Gym. Air Force swept the epee weapon, with junior Omar Emara winning the men's title and sophomore Christina Watrall winning the women's competition.
Air Force earned seven medalists in individual competition.
Joining Watrall in earning a medal in women's epee was junior Ellie Kim, who captured a silver medal. The Falcons also had two medalists in men's epee, with senior George Gasparovich IV earning bronze.
In men's foil, junior Jack Griffith picked up a bronze medal. Junior William Barber also earned a bronze in men's saber. In women's saber, junior Mira Vestel captured bronze.
For Watrall, it was weekend sweep in the women's epee, as she also earned the gold medal at the NCAA West Regional yesterday. For Emara, it was his first-ever MPSF title.
The Falcons also finished runner-up to UC San Diego in both the men's and women's team relay's. Air Force defeated Incarnate Word in the semifinals of both before falling to UCSD in the finals.
Air Force now awaits selections for the 2025 NCAA Fencing Championships. Qualifiers will be announced Tuesday, March 11.
