Griffith and Watrall Lead Falcons at April NAC/Div. I Championships

Air Force fencing completed competition at USA Fencing's April North American Cup/Div. I Championships, held April 11-14, at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

Four Falcons competed on the weekend, with three earning top-100 finishes, including two top-20 finishes.

Jack Griffith led the Falcons with a sixth place finish in the Div. I men's foil, out of a field of 129. Griffith earned four wins in the direct elimination bracket, making the quarterfinals.

Christina Watrall placed 12th in the Div. I women's epee, out of a field of 136. Watrall had three wins in the direct elimination bracket, reaching the round of 16.

Air Force's third top-100 finisher was Omar Emara in men's epee. Out of a field of 128, Emara placed 77th.

Mira Vestel competed for the Falcons in women's Div. I saber. Vestel finished 111th.
