
Air Force Falls In Regular Season-Finale at Utah State

Falcons earn #5 seed at MW Championships and will face #4 Nevada next Wed.
Air Force men's tennis dropped a 4-1 contest at Utah State (14-8, 4-2 MW) in Mountain West action Saturday morning at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club in Logan, Utah. The Falcons cap the regular season with a 11-11 overall record and 2-4 mark in MW play.
The Falcons led early by winning two of three in doubles to earn the point. Utah State then swept the singles portion of competition to rally to the win.
After dropping the No. 1 doubles match, the Falcons came back with wins at 2 and 3. Phillip Deaton and Tyler Leaird won at No. 2 over Mohammad Alkotop/Dmitri Goubin 6-4. AJ Moore and Langdon Tingleaf then won at No. 3 over Sergi Mico Fenollar/Keanu Rigby 7-6 (7-4).
In singles, Utah State won at 2, 1, 5 and 6 to pull away. Air Force led at No. 4 and was tied a No. 3 before competition ended.

Air Force returns to action at the MW Mens' Tennis Championships, running April 23-25, in Las Vegas, Nev. The Falcons open play at 5 pm PT on Wednesday, April 23, at the Darling Tennis Center. Air Force, playing as the 5-seed, takes on 4-seed Nevada.
