COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., - Air Force baseball was represented by a lone honoree on the Mountain West All-Conference Second Team by senior Zach Peters, as released by conference officials on Tuesday afternoon.
"Zach has had a tremendous season and is well-deserving of being an all-conference player," expressed the Falcons' skipper, Mike Kazlausky. "What a great way to wrap up his Air Force Academy career and he will now take what he has learned on the friendly fields of strife to lead our Airmen as a 2nd Lieutenant."
Peters earned his first All-Mountain West accolade after completing the 2025 season at the top of the charts for Air Force. The C1C was a vital contributor to the Falcons' lineup and picked up overall team bests in: batting average (.347), OPS (1.029), runs scored (54), hits (68), doubles (20), home runs (8), and slugging percentage (.602). When the season came to a close, Peters was on a 15-game hit streak and plated at least one run in the last six games of his career.
In league play, the Garden Grove, Calif., native finished with the highest batting average at .376, scored 41 runs, tallied 47 hits, and collected 16 doubles, a pair of triples, and five homers for a Mountain West slugging percentage of .656.
While Peters was a force at the plate, he also did an outstanding job of protecting right field, notching 86 put outs with ten assists and contributing to one double play across the season. He fielded perfectly in his final 13 games as a Falcon.
Upon graduation, Peters will prepare to become a Special Forces Tactical Air Control Party Specialist in September.
