
Air Force Hosts Northern Colorado in Midweek Game

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo., - Air Force (10-15) returns to Erdle Field for a midweek matchup against familiar foe, Northern Colorado (6-23) on Tuesday March 31 at 3 p.m. MT.

STARTING SLOT
Marcus Downing will be looked to for the midweek start against Northern Colorado for his first start of the season. The righty holds an ERA of 4.61 and has been a steady reliever through 13.2 innings with seven earned runs allowed and eight strikeouts.
ENTER IN RELIEF
Junior Easton Miller has logged 9.1 innings on the mound with 11 Ks and just three runs for a reliever-best ERA of 2.89.
Junior Sam Hentges has been turned to in some big moments, as he has made eight appearances out of the bullpen for 8.2 IP. The lefty has struck out 10 batters and allowed six runs on the season. Most recently at Tarleton State, Hentges made two late appearances for 2.2 innings against the Texans with no runs allowed and four Ks.
TIME IN TEXAS
Most recently in the Lone Star State, Air Force was downed by Tarleton State but battled hard. Two games were lost in extra innings when the Texans walked it off. On the weekend, AF batted .267 with 18 runs off 31 hits. The pitchers tallied 25 Ks and a team ERA of 6.75.
FRESHMEN FIGHT
Wyatt Hanoian has started all 24 games he has played in and boasts the highest BA of the freshmen starters at .314 with 21 runs, 27 hits, and a team-best 27 RBIs under his belt. In the second matchup with DBU, he recorded three hits and batted in four runs. Over the UNLV series, Hanoian drove in seven runs and scored six. At Nevada as the designated hitter, Hanoian accounted for five RBIs and four runs. At Tarleton State, he batted a team-high .357 with five hits and a trio of RBIs over the three-game series.
Garrett Hutchins displayed impressive performances while in Stephenville, as he made his firs collegiate start in game three and earned a series batting average of .600. The freshman logged three hits, two of which were doubles, and batted in a pair of runs.
A LOOK AT NORTHERN COLORADO
The Bears are coming off a run-rule, 21-2 loss South Dakota and currently sit at 6-23 overall with a Summit League record of 4-4.
Offensively, Northern Colorado is led by Logan Pruski with a .352 batting average, 18 RBIs, and 38 hits. On the mound, Jake Storey has logged the most amount of time pitching (36.3 IP) and allowed 26 earned runs with 37 strikeouts for an ERA of 6.38.
