Texas Tanner Wraps Competition at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Air Force junior Texas Tanner wrapped up action at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., this afternoon (June 13), as he placed 20th in the discus throw. With that placement, Tanner – the first Falcon in 14 years to compete in that event at the national meet – was named an Honorable Mention All-American.
Competing in the first flight of throwers, Tanner recorded a distance of 55.76 meters (182'11") on his second attempt – a mark that placed him 10th after the opening flight and 20th at the conclusion of the meet. Tanner finished his junior season with two All-American citations (first-team in the hammer throw, second-team in the indoor shot put) and a pair of honorable mention nods (weight throw, discus throw).
