U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Three Air Force hockey players were named to the 2025 Academic All-District® At-Large team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.
To be considered for CSC All-Academic, the student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. They must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. The athletes must also meet a competition/games played threshold for eligibility, specific to each sport.
The three Falcons honored were: Guy Blessing, Brendan Gibbons and Holt Oliphant.
Blessing, a 2025 graduate, carried a 3.80 GPA as an astronautical engineering major. The CSC all-district honor was the second of his career. He was a four-time member of the Atlantic Hockey America all-academic team. A goalie from Chandler, Ariz., Blessing started 39 of the 40 games last season and led the nation in minutes played. He had a 2.48 GAA and a .907 saves percentage last season. He became the sixth goalie in Air Force's conference era to record more than 2,000 career saves and is the fifth goalie in school history to play 100 or more career games.
Gibbons, a rising junior, carries a 3.77 GPA as an operations research major. A two-time member of the AHA all-academic team, this is his first CSC honor. A right winger from Wakefield, R.I., he was third on the team with eight goals and fourth with 18 points this past season.
Oliphant, a rising senior, carried a 3.82 GPA as a military and strategic studies major. A three-time member of the AHA all-academic team, this is his second CSC all-district honor. A forward from Northbrook, Ill., he played in 39 games this past season and had two goals and seven assists for nine points with 25 blocked shots.
The CSC At-Large Academic All-America® teams will be announced on Wednesday, July 9.
