
Air Force Athletics Mourns the Loss of Former Baseball Coach, Joe Robison

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo., - Air Force Athletics mourns the loss of former baseball coach, Joe Robison, who passed away at age 86 in Baytown, Texas.
Robison is affectionately known as the "Father of Air Force Baseball", as he joined the faculty at the USAFA in 1969 and served as the baseball coach for 14 years. When he retired as head skipper in 1986, Robison had totaled 282 wins and eight winning seasons, along with respect and loyalty from those he coached.
After his retirement from the Air Force, Robison continued a career in baseball as a scout for the New York Yankees and helped build four World Series title teams between 1996-2000.
His dedication to the sport of baseball was recognized when he was inducted into the Texas Scouts Association Hall of Fame in 2005, the inaugural class of the Dayton Sports Hall of Fame in 2017, and the Colorado Dugout Club Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2021.
