FORT COLLINS, Colo. – To conclude a strong outing at Colorado State's Jon Messick Invitational, the Air Force Women's Tennis team wrapped up day three in Fort Collins with a pair of finals bracket victories.
Senior Arianna Van Houweling capped a 3-0 weekend with an A draw singles win over Wyoming's Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia. After dropping the first set, the Falcon senior pulled out a 7-5 set to even the score, then secured the title match with a 12-10 super tiebreak win. Both Van Houweling and freshman teammate Yule Kang went 5-0 on the weekend, complimenting a pair of doubles victories as a duo with unblemished singles outings. Kang scored a convincing, straight-set win in the C draw final over Utah State's Terezia Mlkva (6-2, 6-0) to compete a 3-0 weekend for the freshman.
Playing in an eight-game pro set after inclement weather halted her match on Saturday evening, sophomore Sofia Mavor scored a third-place finish in the B draw, downing CSU's Annika Planinsek in an 8-4 set to close out her weekend at 2-1 in singles competition.
Junior Joselyn Limbago closed out her season debut at 2-1, earning back-to-back wins in the H draw consolation bracket, defeating UChicago's Lauren Khou, 8-3.
