Huntington leads Falcons in first round of Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force junior Eli Huntington led the Air Force golf team in the first round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Eisenhower Blue Golf Course.
Huntington birdied four of his final 10 holes for a one-under 71 and is tied for 14th overall. Senior Eric Liveringhouse shot 75 while seniors Ted Davenport and Brooks Morrell and junior Carson Baker each shot 77.
Jared Abercrombie from Cal Baptist and Paxton Maxwell from Utah Valley are tied for the individual lead after each shooting a four-under 68.
Idaho leads the tournament after the first round with a 283 (-5). Gonzaga is second at 285 (-3) while UC San Diego, Utah State and Cal Baptist are all tied for third at 287 (-1). Air Force is tied for 21st at 300.
In the individual event on the Eisenhower Silver Course, UC San Diego's Ethan Lien and UT Arlington's Liam Hartling each shot 65 (-7). Ethan Posthumus from CSU Northridge shot 68. Air Force's top individuals were senior Alvaro Fonseca and freshman Ben Zeiler who each shot 73 (+1). Jackson Scaletta shot 75 and Lincoln Blake shot 85.
The second round of the 56th Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational is Sunday, Sept. 21st. Groups will go off on the Blue Course in tee times beginning at 8:30 am MT while individuals will begin at 9:30 am MT in a shotgun start.
