Air Force Goes Down at Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. – Air Force Women's Tennis, taking on its third Power Four program in the first two weeks of competition, went down 4-0 to Colorado in Boulder.

Air Force fell in doubles on lines two and three in order. Senior Abby Cotuna and sophomore Maya Michalski fell to CU pair Lera Alexin/Rixt Van Der Werff, 6-3. Nadia Kojonroj/Jariahlyn Rhoades went down in the doubles clincher, falling 6-4 to Lani Brotman/Pia Rebec.

In singles, the Falcons went down on courts two (Ema Bubalo vs. Sofia Mavor, 6-1, 6-0), four (Kojonroj vs. Alexin, 6-2, 7-5) and three (Michalski vs. Rebec, 6-1, 7-5) in sequence to secure the CU shutout.

On the top flight, Cotuna, taking on van der Werff, split results in their first two sets. Cotuna led the third, 2-0, when CU clinched the match. Freshman Yule Kang scored a 7-5 first set then fell in the second. The two were set to begin a third set before going unfinished.
