ALL-TIME VERSUS THE WOLF PACK
Air Force and Nevada have met 12 times, with an even 6-6-1 record for the all-time series. The teams first met in 2012, a home loss for the Falcons. In last season's matchup, Air Force picked up a 4-2 win, with Chase Borntreger and Sammi Kinoshita finding the net.
LAST TIME OUT
Air Force women's soccer (8-4-1, 3-2-0 MW) matched last season's win total and defeated Grand Canyon (5-4-4, 1-2-1) for the first time since 2013 with a 1-0 shutout on Sunday afternoon at Cadet Soccer Stadium. Clara Teigland scored the gamewinner, while Sydney Nelms recorded four saves for her second shutout of the season.
Prior to kickoff, Air Force honored Falcons Addie Doyle and Maeve Gayer, along with GCU's Addie Vali, recognizing their respective battles with cancer.
"I am proud of our team for two gritty performances this week," said head coach Laura Busby. "I am continuously impressed by their coachability and willingness to fight for one another."
Teigland scored her second career goal in the 29th minute, just two minutes after entering the match. Annika Jost assisted on the goal, extending her assist streak to three consecutive games. Jost connected with Teigland on a give-and-go before threading a pass through two defenders, allowing Teigland to chip the ball over the goalkeeper.
Nelms made two first-half saves to preserve the lead, and the Falcons held GCU scoreless despite both teams recording five shots in the second half.
ANNIKA ALL THE WAY
Annika Jost has wasted no time making her mark in 2026, tallying 18 points on six goals and a career-high six assists across 935 minutes of action. Two of her goals have been game-winners, and she has been perfect from the penalty spot, converting attempts at Texas A&M and UNLV. Jost has played a pivotal role in Air Force's offensive success, consistently coming through in key moments. She recorded the equalizer against Denver, added an assist in the win over UC Davis and netted a brace to snap the Falcons' two-game losing streak at UNLV, and assisted the Falcons' single goal to shutout Grand Canyon 1-0. In conference play, Jost leads Air Force with eight points on two goals and four assists, as she has marked an assist in three consecutive matches. For her efforts at a 2-0 league record last week, Jost picked up her first MW Offensive Player of the Week selection of the season.
FINDING THE FINAL THIRD
Air Force puts the pressure on opposing defenses, firing off 200 shots through 13 matches, including 95 on target, while finding the back of the net 28 times. The Falcons have generated chances from across the attacking third, with Annika Jost and Kendall Rippley leading the team with 29 and 26 shots, respectively. Chase Borntreger follows with 21 attempts, while Maddy Walsh has added 20.
The Falcons have outscored their opponents 28-17 this season and have traditionally found more success after halftime, scoring 16 goals in the second half compared to 12 in the first. However, Air Force flipped the script at UNLV, netting four goals in the opening half before adding a fifth after the break. The five-goal performance marked the Falcons' first time scoring five goals in a match since 2014.
