ALL-TIME VERSUS THE SPARTANS
Air Force and SJSU have met 13 times, with Air Force down 4-7-2 in the all-time record. The teams first met in 1996, an away win for the Falcons. At Cadet Soccer Stadium, the Falcons are 1-4-1 picking up their singular home win in 2021. In last season's matchup, Air Force recorded a 4-2 win, highlighted by a hat trick from Annika Jost.
LAST TIME OUT
Air Force women's soccer (9-4-1, 4-2-0 MW) earned a dominant 5-1 win over Nevada (3-11-1, 0-5-1 MW) on Sunday evening at Mackay Stadium, marking its highest win total since 2019.
Clara Teigland recorded her first collegiate brace, while Chase Borntreger, Kendall Rippley and Annika Jost each added a goal. Maddy Walsh tallied two assists, and Olivia Jackson recorded her first career assist. Addie Doyle and Lauren Steinlage also contributed assists.
Borntreger opened the scoring in the eighth minute off a Walsh pass, and Rippley doubled the lead in the 16th minute on another Walsh assist. Jackson set up Teigland's first goal in the 43rd minute to give Air Force a 3-0 halftime advantage.
The Falcons continued their offensive surge after the break, as Teigland scored again in the 56th minute off a pass from Doyle before Jost found the net in the 58th minute following a Steinlage assist. Nevada scored in the 88th minute to close the match at 5-1.
Sydney Nelms made two saves on three shots on target to help secure the victory.
TAKE IT FROM TEIGLAND
Senior Clara Teigland has emerged as a strong force for the Falcons, recording nine points off four goals and an assist in her first season on the soccer team.
The forward has scored in two matches in a row, with the gamewinner in the 1-0 shutout over Grand Canyon and a breakthrough brace to defeat Nevada 5-1.
FINDING THE FINAL THIRD
Air Force puts the pressure on opposing defenses, firing off 219 shots through 14 matches, including 106 on target, while finding the back of the net 33 times. The Falcons have generated chances from across the attacking third, with Annika Jost and Kendall Rippley leading the team with 31 and 28 shots, respectively. Chase Borntreger follows with 26 attempts, while Maddy Walsh has added 21.
The Falcons have outscored their opponents 33-18 this season and have traditionally found more success after halftime, scoring 18 goals in the second half compared to 15 in the first. However, Air Force flipped the script at UNLV, Grand Canyon, and Nevada netting eight goals in the opening halves of those matches. The Falcons have now posted a pair of five-goal performances, marking the Falcons' first time scoring five goals in a match since 2014. Should Air Force net six goals in a single match, it would be the first time since 2001.
AIR FORCE IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST
Air Force currently ranks first in the Mountain West in goals (33) and goals per game (2.36) with their 23rd-nationally ranked scoring of 2.36. Sydney
Nelms ranks second in the league in saves per game (4.42) and fifth in total saves (53). Annika Jost ranks first in the Mountain West in points per game (1.43), and second in total points (20) and goals (7).

In goal, Paige Fry has taken 13 starts and made 75 saves but allowed 21 goals.
