Air Force hosts NCAA Qualifier vs. TCU, Feb. 21

This Week: The Air Force rifle team will host an NCAA Qualifier against TCU, Saturday, Feb. 21, at 9 am MT at the Cadet Rifle Range. Live scoring will be available at MegaLink. The match will round out the regular-season home schedule for the Falcons.

The Falcons in the Rankings: Air Force's aggregate season average of 4693.83 is 12^th in the nation, while the smallbore score of 2321.50 is 15^th and the air rifle average of 2372.33 is 12^th.

Top Falcons: Senior team captain Victoria Leppert has the team's top aggregate average of 1173.75 while freshman Prisha Thomas is second (1172.80) and freshman Lily Miller is third (1168.25). Leppert leads the team in smallbore average at 582.08, followed by Thomas (581.27) and Miller (580.08). In air rifle, Lily Wytko leads the team with an average of 595.67, followed by Megan Torrence (593.75) and Thomas (591.09).

Last Time Out: Air Force finished sixth at the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships, Feb. 7-8, at the X Count in Fort Wayne, Ind. Air Force, ranked 13^th in the nation, shot a 2324 in smallbore on the opening day of the conference tournament and then a 2376 in air rifle on Sunday for a aggregate total of 4700. Fourth-ranked Nebraska won the conference title with an aggregate score of 4758. Fifth-ranked Ole Miss was second (4745), third-ranked TCU was third (4745), seventh-ranked Alaska was fourth (4719), 10^th-ranked UTEP was fifth (4702) and 12^th-ranked Ohio State was seventh (4685). In smallbore on Saturday, freshman Prisha Thomas led the Falcons with a 584, just one point off of her career-best, followed by Bethany Butler (season-high 583), Lily Miller (579), Victoria Leppert (578), Megan Torrence (576), Asa Wells (575) and William Steen (566). In air rifle on Sunday, Lily Wytko led the Falcons, and placed 12^th overall, with a 597, just one point shy of her career high. Leppert was second on the team with a 595, followed by Butler (594, tied career high), Torrence and Miller (592), Wells (587), Thomas (584) and Steen (580).
