Lucas Gerten Breaks Academy 3-Meter Record on First Day of MPSF Championships

PHARR, TX., - The Falcons opened the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships with a hot start, as they sit at second overall with a score 110, just three points behind the leaders, Cal Baptist. Air Force saw a broken record on the 3-meter and a pair of top three relay finishes.
Freshman Lucas Gerten got right to business with his record-breaking performance and silver finish on the first day of competition. He scored a 380.40, surpassing the previous record of 378.60, set in 2022. Additionally, the St. Paul, Minn., native also owns the Academy's 1-meter record. Teammate Brady Nichol took seventh with a score of 335.95.
James Winterfield, Joe Christ, Tyler Surratt, and Camden Swigart totaled a time 6:23.45 to place second overall.
In the 200 medley relay, Dylan Ferguson, Bridon Rosales, Tanner Wilson, and Jordan Falls collected a third-place finish with their combined time of 1:26.72.
The Falcons will continue competition on Thursday Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. CT at City of Pharr-PSJA Natatorium.
