
Trio of Falcons Earn Mountain West All-Conference Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Falcons saw three student-athletes, Lexi Gregory, Naomi Furman, and Lily Larson, named to the Mountain West Conference All-Conference team following record-breaking performances at the conference championships, as announced Wednesday. This marks the first all-conference honors for the trio.
Larson led Air Force in scoring, tallying a meet-high 61 points. The sophomore recorded three individual top ten finishes, highlighted by an Academy-record swim in the 100 freestyle (49.67) to place 10th. She also finished sixth in the 200 free (1:47.72) and ninth in the 500 free with a personal-best time of 4:50.27. The Colorado Springs native was a member of three record-setting relays: the 400 medley relay (3:39.09), 800 free relay (7:13.52), and 400 free relay (3:20.43).
C4C Gregory earned All-Conference honors in her first collegiate championship with standout performances on the 3-meter springboard and platform. She placed fifth on the 3-meter with a score of 319.40, earning an NCAA Zone qualification. Gregory also set a new USAFA program record on the platform, finishing fifth with an NCAA Zone qualifying score of 279.80, surpassing the previous mark of 266.65 that stood for six years.
Head diving coach, Kyle Van Valkenburg expressed, "I am so proud of Lexi and her performance at the MWC. She put together some of her best diving when it mattered the most and her results were fantastic. I am excited to see how far she will go in her next three years."
Furman scored the second-most points for the Falcons with 56. She placed sixth in the 100 breaststroke finals, resetting her own school record with a personal-best time of 1:00.70. In the 200 breast, the Berwyn, Pa., native finished ninth at 2:13.08 and added a 15th-place finish in the 200 IM (2:02.57). Furman also contributed to the Falcons' record-breaking performance in the 400 medley relay (3:39.09).
On Larson's and Furman's performances, head swimming coach Colleen Murphy said, "They have improved so much since arriving at USAFA, their hard work and dedication to the team and their individual improvement are unmatched. They are so deserving of these honors and they represent the Academy so well. We are already excited for next season!"
