Women’s Tennis Makes Academy Debut Hosting No. 72 North Florida

Head Coach Taylor Hollander Recaps Arkansas/Oklahoma weekend, looks ahead to UNF home debut
After a nine-match road tour to open the dual season, Air Force Women's Tennis digs in at home for a five-match run at the Academy. The Falcons open at home hosting No. 72 North Florida at 11:30 a.m. MT on Friday morning at Cadet East Gym.

Air Force at a Glance:
The Falcons (1-8, 0-0 MW) opened the spring on a three-match, Power Four road trip which included a stop at national runner-up, No. 2 Texas A&M. Thereafter, the Falcons split results on a two-match stop in Flagstaff, Ariz., downing New Mexico State (4-1) before dropping a 5-2 decision to host NAU. The following weekend, Air Force dropped a 5-2 decision to Army at College MatchDay in Orlando, falling to West Point in a trio of three-set matches. Air Force closed its nine-match road trip falling to No. 7 Oklahoma and No. 62 Arkansas.
As a team, Air Force currently sits at 8-32 in singles play and 7-15 in doubles.

No. 72 UNF puts a 10-0 dual record and a six-match shutout streak on the line on Friday – The best start to dual play in the Ospreys' history. UNF is currently 33-9 (.786) in singles play and 12-6 in doubles.
Top Conference Honors:
On Feb. 22, senior Abby Cotuna of was named Mountain West Player of the Week.
Against Army on Feb. 14, Cotuna picked up a pair of wins in both stages of competition. In doubles, Cotuna/Sofia Mavor scored their first win of the spring season in a shutout doubles set, downing 9-0 Army duo Olivia Mellynchuk/Emily Ruckno. Cotuna's collective performances shined through in a 4-2 loss to West Point at College MatchDay in Orlando.
In singles play, Cotuna defeated Army's Madison Smith, 6-4, 6-3, to pick up her second win of the season while snapping a six-match win streak for the West Point junior.
Looking Ahead:
After UNF, Air Force is set to host South Dakota (March 6), Davidson (March 12) and both Nevada (March 13) and UNLV (March 15) to open Mountain West play.
