COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force Women's Gymnastics' lead all-around gymnast Maggie Slife has been named Mountain West Gymnast of the Week – An honor complimented by her additionally earning both Bars and Floor Specialist of the Week accolades, the league announced on Tuesday.
On Jan. 30 at Boise State, rounding out a quad with the host Broncos, Utah State and Sacramento State, Slife earned her fourth all-around title in as many weeks of competition, scoring a 39.475 to match the second-best individual all-around score in Air Force history (Jessica Liegl, 2004). The reigning Mountain West Gymnast of the Year earned at least a share of first place in all four events on Friday night while scoring the only two 9.900-plus scores of the meet (Vault – 9.800; Bars – 9.950; Beam – 9.825; Floor – 9.900). Slife capped Air Force's evening in Boise tying the all-time program record on uneven bars - A benchmark set by Slife in the previous season.
Slife's iron grip on the Mountain West's top weekly spot has only strengthened with the advent of her junior season. To date, Slife has earned eight-straight top all-around awards from the conference and 14 of the last 15 – a streak which extends to the final awards week of the 2024 season. In addition to being the undisputed top all-arounder in the Mountain West for over a calendar year, the junior has scored four-consecutive top weekly honors as both bars and floor specialist to open the Falcons' 2026 campaign.
Slife, currently ranked 10th in the nation as an all-around gymnast and ninth on bars, is the highest-ranked non-Power Four gymnast and top-overall ranked competitor in the North Central region in both categories.
Air Force Women's Gymnastics is back in Cadet West Gym on Friday, Feb. 6, hosting Utah State and Alaska Anchorage at 7 p.m. MT.
