Air Force Closes Day One of First Chance Invite Action

DENVER, Colo., - The Falcons completed the opening day of the Denver First Chance Invite on Friday at El Pomar Natatorium. Air Force saw 18 top five finishes over the course of the evening.
Brandon Cho opened the meet with a runner-up finish in the 400 IM, clocking a 4:02.50. Anthony Sebastian (4:05.56) and Ralph Fiscus (4:05.96) also cracked the top five.
Matthew Doty added a silver medal in the 100 back with a time of 49.02, while senior Louie Body finished fifth at 49.79.
The Falcons dominated the 100 breast, sweeping second through fifth. Bridon Rosales paced the group with a 54.43, followed by Tanner Wilson (54.97), Jacob Duckworth (55.16), and Sebastian (55.18).
James Winterfield posted a second-place finish in the 200 fly at 1:47.73, with Jonas Dark taking fourth in 1:49.42.
Freshman Jordan Falls secured second in the 50 free with a time of 20.27, while Joe Christ placed fifth at 20.78.
Tyler Surratt earned bronze in the 200 free, touching at 1:39.96, and Christ followed in fifth at 1:40.15.
Closing out the distance events, Surratt added another third-place finish in the 1650 free with a time of 16:07.98. Tucker Rice (16:08.00) and Fiscus (16:42.17) rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth.
The Falcons will be back in the pool to close pre-championship season on Saturday February 7 at 10 a.m. MT.
