Falcons Wrap Day One at Denver First Chance Invite

DENVER, Colo., - Air Force wrapped up the first day of the First Chance Invitational hosted by Denver, on Friday evening at El Pomar Natatorium. The Falcons recorded one gold finish for Ryan Mills, along with twelve top-five placements.
Mills led the Falcons with a first-place finish in the 50 free, touching the wall at 23.52. Lily Bachl followed closely in second (23.53), while Eliza Black secured third at 23.63 to complete the podium sweep.
The 200 medley relay team of Brynn Bond, Naomi Furman, Amber Martin, and Mills earned a runner-up finish with a time of 1:43.61.
In the 400 IM, Ella Rudik and Jessie McNeil posted back-to-back podium finishes, placing second (4:33.83) and third (4:37.53), respectively.
Freshman Natalie Doig continued her strong outing with a second-place finish in the 200 free at 1:51.75, while Kaitlyn Surratt (1:53.05) and Abby Miller (1:54.75) finished third and fifth.
Bond added a silver medal in the 100 back with a time of 55.83, followed closely by Sadie Hartig in third at 56.13.
Senior Abigail Hardy notched a second-place finish in the 200 fly, clocking a 2:05.51, with Lily Larson (2:06.91) and Furman (2:08.50) finishing third and fourth.
Reagan Kampschror represented the Falcons in the 100 breast, placing third with a time of 1:04.07.
Closing out the distance events, Zoe Bresnahan recorded a fourth-place finish in the 1650 free at 17:53.64.
Air Force will be back in action for their final day of non-championship competition on Saturday February 7 at 10 a.m. MT in El Pomar Natatorium.
