Air Force Downed By San Diego State

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball (3-19, 0-11 MW) fell to San Diego State (16-6, 10-2 MW), 88-54, in Mountain West action Saturday night at Clune Arena. Freshmen Ethan Greenberg and Kam Sanders led the Falcons with 11 points each.
San Diego State forced 22 turnovers, which led to a 32-9 advantage in points off turnovers. The Aztecs also shot 60 percent from the field, with a 52-20 points advantage in the paint. BJ Davis led five Aztecs in doubles figures scoring with 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field.
San Diego State jumped ahead in the opening half 45-26. The Aztecs forced the Falcons into 12 first-half turnovers, which led to a 20-2 advantage in points off turnovers. Air Force hit six first-half three's to get back into the game, including three in a row that forced an SDSU timeout.
The Falcons made eight three's on the night. The team was efficient passing the ball, as 17 assists came on its 19 field goals.
Sanders had an all-around game for the Falcons, as he also tied for the team-lead with five rebounds and dishing out four assists. Sanders knocked down a pair of three's. Greenberg made three three's for the third straight game.
Junior center Wesley Celichowski had a career-high five assists. He also tied a career-high with two steals. Sophomore Eli Robinson added six points and five rebounds. AJ Patterson had three assists and his first-career blocked shot.
Air Force returns to action Tuesday, Feb. 10 hosting Colorado State. Tip time is 7 pm MT from Clune Arena. The game will be televised on ALT2 and streamed on the MW Network.
