Air Force Fencing Finishes Competition At Beguinet Classic and Miller Invite

Air Force fencing competed at the Beguinet Classic and the Miller Invitational this weekend, Feb. 7-8, in Durham and Chapel Hill, NC. The men's team competed at the Beguinet Classic on Saturday and the women's team at the Miller Invite on Sunday.

The men's team picked up a pair of wins Saturday. The Falcons defeated Johns Hopkins 14-13 and #9 Penn State 15-12. AIr Force (18-12) had six wins over ranked opponents this season.

Three Falcons racked up double-digit wins. Senior Jack Griffith led the way with 12 wins in foil. Griffith had a winning record against all five opponents faced. Freshman Sean Oh also had 10 wins in foil.

Freshman Byung Kim led the epee group with 11 wins, with a winning record against all five teams. Senior Williams Barber led the saber group with seven wins.

The women's team faced three ranked opponents Sunday, as the team dropped all five of its contests.

Sophomore Keira Lonadier led the women with nine wins in epee. Freshman Marisa Green led the foil group with eight wins. Sophomore Priscilla Yao picked up five wins in saber. Junior Christina Watrall posted the best win percentage on the women's team with a 4-2 record in epee.

Air Force returns to action at the February NAC, held Feb. 13-16 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
