
Baseball's Tripp Garrish Named Mountain West Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., - Falcon outfielder, Tripp Garrish, was named the Mountain West Player of the Week for the first time in his career, as released by conference officials on Monday afternoon. This marks Air Force's third weekly award of the season.
Garrish was a key contributor to Air Force's 3-1 week, which featured a midweek win over St. Thomas and two conference victories at Nevada. Over four games, the Belmont, Calif., native led the team with nine hits and nine RBIs, while adding two home runs, four doubles, a 1.000 slugging percentage, and five stolen bases.
Against St. Thomas, Garrish launched his third home run of the season for two RBIs and added another run via a fielder's choice.
In the 18-5 game two win over Nevada, the right fielder went 4-for-6, tying his season high in hits, while scoring four runs and driving in two.
He closed the week by helping Air Force clinch the series over Nevada, recording three hits and four RBIs to match his season best. Garrish also hit his fourth home run of the season, the Falcons' lone homer of the series.
Overall in the Mountain West, Garrish ranks first in stolen bases (14), fifth in runs scored (27), sixth in home runs (4).
