
Women’s Tennis Cruises to 5-0 Win over South Dakota

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force Women's Tennis picked up a dominant 5-0 victory on Friday evening over South Dakota, marking its first dual home victory of the 2026 spring season.
Air Force opened the evening scoring a swift doubles victory. On line two, senior Arianna Van Houweling/Shivaani Selvan earned a 6-3 win against South Dakota's Selena Bird/Ava Doddridge marking the duo's fourth win this spring. Sophomore Maya Michalski and freshman Jariahlyn Rhoades scored their second-straight win, defeating Natalia Alves de Lima/Keta Shavishvili 6-1. Air Force scored a 1-0 advantage with the doubles win, earning the Falcons' third doubles point in the last four matches.
In singles, Air Force pushed forward and never looked back, scoring straight-set wins on courts one through six on the way to the Falcons' first the shutout win of the season.
On line one, senior Abby Cotuna defeated Coyote Selena Bird, 6-3, 6-2, securing her third dual singles win.
Van Houweling remained perfect in singles competition, downing Kayleigh Didderiens, 6-0, 6-2, scoring her third 6-0 shutout set this season and improving to 4-0. Didderiens was seeking a third-straight win in the match after a two-set win over Wyoming's Eugenia Ceinos and 4-6, 6-0, 6-0 win in a match against Northern Iowa.
Mavor, on line three, picked up her first dual singles victory this season with a 6-2, 6-1 win over USD's Anna Medvyedyeva.
Freshman Yule Kang scored her third dual singles win, improving to 9-9 in 2025-26. Kang defeated Coyote Cassy Marra, 6-4, 6-2, rounding out an across-the-board win for the Falcons on Friday night.
On lines five and six, both Rhoades and senior Nadia Kojonroj scored 6-0 opening sets against Ktea Shashvili and Ava Doddridge before their respective matches were called off due to the Falcon clinch.
