U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. — Air Force (15-18, 8-4) erased an early five-run deficit to secure a 10-5 comeback victory and complete its second Mountain West series sweep of Fresno State (10-22-1, 1-10-1) on Sunday afternoon at Erdle Field. The Falcons tacked on 11 hits while swiping four bases to surpass 100 steals on the season (101). Defensively, Air Force turned four double plays, tying the program single-game record, while the pitching staff combined for eight strikeouts.

Designated hitter Walker Zapp powered the offense, going 2-for-5 with his fifth home run of the season and three RBIs. Kayden Bradshaw, Luke Elmore, and Cole Jenkins each added two RBIs in the win.

On the mound, Easton Miller made his first start of the season, striking out two while allowing four runs in one inning. Aiden Poe followed with 3.1 innings of relief, surrendering one run and striking out one. Marcus Downing (4-0) earned the win with 2.2 scoreless innings, and Sam Hentges closed the door with three strikeouts over the final two hitless frames.

Fresno State jumped out to an early lead for the third straight game, scoring four runs in the second inning.

The Falcons answered with three runs, 4-3, in the bottom of the third. With the first batter out, Bradshaw reached on an infield single before advancing to third on an error. With runners on the corners, Wyatt Hanoian drew a walk, and another defensive miscue allowed Bradshaw to score. Elmore capped the inning with a two-RBI double to cut the deficit to one.

The Bulldogs extended their advantage to 5-3 in the fifth.

Air Force took control in the fifth and rallied to claim a 9-5 lead. Bradshaw and Hanoian reached base ahead of Zapp, who launched a 391-foot, three-run homer over the left field fence. After a pitching change, walks to Garrish and Elmore set up Jenkins for an RBI single. Bradshaw later drove in the final run of the inning with a well-placed single through the left side.

Jenkins added insurance in the eighth with a sacrifice fly that scored Hanoian to seal the 10-5 final.

Air Force continues its homestand Monday, hosting Utah Valley at 3 p.m. MT.
