COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force infielder Wyatt Hanoian was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week, as announced by conference officials on Monday afternoon. The honor marks Hanoian's second weekly award of the season and the Falcons' fourth overall.
The Costa Mesa, Calif., native continues to lead the team offensively, batting .369 with 35 runs on 41 hits, along with 32 RBIs.
Hanoian played a key role in Air Force's 4-0 week, which included a Mountain West sweep of Fresno State. He hit an impressive .533, totaling eight runs and eight hits while posting a team-best .632 on-base percentage. Across the series, the freshman recorded at least two hits in every game and consistently delivered in crucial moments.
In the series opener, Hanoian went 3-for-4, stole two bases, and drove in a pair of runs. He followed that performance in the come-from-behind finale by scoring three runs on two hits, helping Air Force remain one of just two NCAA Division I teams undefeated at home.
