
Air Force Run Comes to an End at the ASUN Championship Finals

JACKSONVILLE – Falcon Lacrosse fell to top-seeded host Jackonsonville, 16-7, in the 2026 ASUN Tournament finals, Sunday afternoon at Rock Stadium. Air Force's five-game hot streak comes to and end as the Falcons finalize the 2026 campaign at 7-8 overall and a share of the regular season ASUN title.
The Dolphins' hot start in the first quarter proved to be insurmountable as JU outscored Air Force, 9-0, in the first 15 minutes. Daylin John-Hill, Jack Taylor and Nicky Brown put up two goals each with Lucas Fraser and William Krupsky rounding out the scoring run.
Air Force's first goal came from Cole Rassas at 12:34 in the second via feed from Luke Vrsansky. Calean Driggs followed up four minutes later with help from Alex Rismani. The Falcons entered the locker room at halftime trailing, 9-2.
Tyler Smart made it a three-goal run in an unassisted attack out of the halftime break. JU responded with five straight goals from 12:19 to 4:45, increasing their lead to 14-3. Ben Heidt, Rassas, and Driggs went on to score one more apiece to bring AF to their seven-goal total.
Driggs led Air Force with three goals for his eighth hat trick of the season. His 140 career goals is the new program standard.
The Falcons couldn't churn momentum off the face off, winning just six attempts in 27 appearances. Cole Cunningham and Charlie Pyfer gave their all, combining for five caused turnovers and turnovers and 11 ground balls.
Cole Rassas, Caelan Driggs, and Cole Cunningham earned spots on the All-Tournament Team.
John-Hill, Taylor and Brown all finished with hat tricks. Drew Rippeon was dominant at center X, winning 21-27 attempts and picking up 11 ground balls. The Dolphins earned the program's first visit to the NCAA Tournament.
The Falcons bring the season to an official close at the annual awards banquet this spring.
