USAF ACADEMY – The Highlanders of UC Riverside rallied to a win against Air Force, 2-1, Friday evening at Cadet Soccer Stadium. Despite the result, the Falcons played with intensity, charisma, and determination for 90 minutes— testament to the positive trajectory of the program.

The Falcons got off to a fiery start with a transition goal in the fourth minute, marking the speediest goal for AF this season. Hunter Anderson, Air Force's freshman goalkeeper, sent a quality goal kick down range to Quinn Muderlak in stride. Muderlak, a preseason Mountain West Player to Watch, tracked the ball in sprint and chipped it off his right toe over the UCR keeper for a goal. The strike marked the first for Muderlak this season while Anderson was credited with an impressive GK assist.

Air Force, controlling possessions and taking 15 shots on the match, fended off the Highlanders for 70 minutes before UCR was able to score the equalizer. Andrija Radonjic scored his first goal of the season off a lucky deflection to knot the match at one.

With the match tied, UCR was booked three yellow cards between the 76^th and 85^th minute, sucking the wind out of the stadium. In the wake of the dull moment, UCR put together a quality attack and goal to take the lead in the 85^th minute.

With the clock ticking down faster than the Falcons' could respond, UCR pulled away with the comeback win.

Next up, Air Force continues down the three-match home stint against UTRGV in the non-conference finale on September 18. Action against the Vaqueros is scheduled for 6 pm MT. This season marks the first in many that AF and UTRGV are not conference foes. The Vaqueros are now affiliates of the Ohio Valley Conference.
