JUNIOR YEAR | 2022-23: Two-time all-conference honoree…clocked a season-best time of 14.17 to finish third in the 110-meter hurdles at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships…also anchored the 4x400-meter relay that placed third at that meet (3:13.05)…won the hurdles at the Dan Caprioglio Early Bird Invitational with an outdoor-opening time of 14.77…also competed in the high jump during the outdoor season, posting a season-best clearance of 6’0¾” at the Tom Benich Invitational…scored for the Falcons in both the hurdles and high jump at the MW Indoor Championships…finished fifth in the high jump (season-best 6’8”) and seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (8.54)…clocked a season-best hurdles time of 8.09 during the preliminary round of the conference meet…academic all-conference selection…MW Scholar-Athlete…earned Academic All-District honors by the College Sports Communicators.
SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2021-22: NCAA Qualifier in the 110-meter hurdles…recorded the seventh-fastest time in Academy history (14.08) during a fourth-place finish at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships…improved standing on the program’s Top 10 in three-straight races…debuted at No. 10 with a (then-best) 14.16 at the Air Force Twilight Open…improved time to 14.13 (No. 9) during the qualifying round of the conference meet, before clocking the 14.08 in the finals…also competed in the 400-meter hurdles and high jump during the outdoor season, recording a personal-best time of 55.81 at the Beach Invitational and an outdoor-best clearance of 6’6¾” at the Jim Click Shootout…cleared a personal-best high jump of 6’9¾” during the indoor season…used that height to finish fifth at the MW Indoor Championships, helping Air Force to four of the top-five finishes and 25 total points in the event…also scored for Air Force in the 60-meter hurdles at the conference meet (eighth, 8.14)…recorded a career-best time of 8.06 during the qualifying round of the championship…academic all-conference selection…MW Scholar-Athlete…named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
FRESHMAN YEAR | 2020-21: Scored for Air Force in the 110-meter hurdles at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships (seventh)…clocked a career-best time of 14.68 in that event at the Air Force Twilight Open…posted an outdoor-best high jump clearance of 6’5” at the West Coast Relays and matched that height at the conference meet…cleared a personal-best 6’7” during the indoor season…recorded that clearance to win the heptathlon high jump at the UCCS Open…clocked a career-best 60-meter hurdles time of 8.30 to win collegiate debut (Air Force Holiday Open)…earned the team’s Athlete of the Week award following fourth-place finishes in the 55-meter dash, 55-meter hurdles and high jump at the Wyoming Power Meet…academic all-conference selection…MW Scholar-Athlete.
HIGH SCHOOL: El Campo High School...claimed two bronze medals at the 2019 Texas UIL 4A State Championships (high jump, 110-meter hurdles)...recorded prep-best marks of 6’8” in the high jump and 14.08 in the hurdles during the shortened 2020 outdoor season...that hurdles time was ranked 15th among the nation’s high school athletes...lettered in three sports (track and field, basketball and football)...also participated in Culinary Arts, Future Farmers of America, the welding program, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and debate...graduated with a 4.45 GPA...ranked within the top one-percent of graduating class.
PERSONAL: Son of Philip and Ann Hundl...father played football as Texas A&M...has three younger siblings (one brother, two sisters)...majoring in operations research...future plans include becoming an analyst in the Space Force…named to the Dean’s List and Athletic Director’s List...earned Jump Wings in the summer of 2021…loves backpacking...hobbies include playing sports (especially basketball), fishing, hiking and learning new things...holds a ServSafe food manager’s certification...almost-pro Apex Legends player...grandfather served in the Korean War...would like to thank his family and friends for “getting me to where I am”...won final high school race on his home track, which resulted in the team winning its first varsity meet in over four years, and without knowing the second meet of his senior year would be his last (“not the state medal-ending, but close to storybook”)… member of Cadet Squadron 26.
