SENIOR YEAR | 2020-21: Team captain.
JUNIOR YEAR | 2019-20: Debuted in ninth on the program’s all-time indoor pole vault standings after recording a career-best clearance of 17’6½” to finish fourth out of 26 vaulters at the Red Raider Invitational...named Mountain West Field Athlete of the Week following that meet...finished the season ranked 22nd in the NCAA...earned runner-up honors in the Invitational section of the Don Kirby Invitational (17’3½”) and added a top-five finish at the Air Force Collegiate Open (17’2¾”, fifth)...academic all-conference selection...named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2018-19: Mountain West Outdoor champion in the pole vault...all-conference selection...NCAA qualifier...debuted in 10th on the program’s all-time outdoor pole vault standings after recording a career-best clearance of 17’5½” to win the Air Force Twilight Open...named the Mountain West Men’s Field Athlete of the Week following that meet...cleared 16’6” during winning performance at the conference meet...also collected a first-place finish at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (16’11”)...earned the team’s Field Athlete of the Week award twice during the outdoor season...competed in the pole vault twice during the indoor season...posted an indoor-best height of 16’0¾” to tie for second out of 23 vautlers at the Air Force Invitational...academic all-conference selection.
FRESHMAN YEAR | 2017-18: Competed in the pole vault during eight meets...named Mountain West Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after clearing a conference-leading 17’1½” to win the NoCo Challenge...was the first conference vaulter (indoor or outdoor) to break the 17-foot bar in 2018...also earned the team’s Field Athlete of the Week award following that meet...opened the outdoor season with a runner-up finish at the Jerry Quiller Classic (15’11”)...recorded an indoor-best clearance of 15’7” at the Air Force Holiday Open...also competed in the 60-meter hurdles (9.14) and high jump (5’10¾”) during that meet.
HIGH SCHOOL: Winter Park High School...won the pole vault at the Florida 4A State Championships...also won the Golden South Classic...named Spectrum Spring athlete of the Year in 2017...set the school pole vault record at 16’9”.
PERSONAL: Full first name is Gregory, but goes by Greg...son of Duane and Joy Skage...has three brothers...is a twin...majoring in management...future plans include becoming a pilot...member of Cadet Squadron 24.
