FRESHMAN YEAR | 2018-19: Competed in the pole vault during 13 meets (seven indoor, six outdoor)...recorded a personal-best clearance of 11’4¼” at the Jack Christiansen Invitational during the outdoor season...also surpassed the 11-foot bar to finish fourth at the Air Force Twilight Open (11’0¾”)...recorded an indoor-best clearance of 10’11¾” in four meets (Air Force Team Challenge, Air Force Invitational, Colorado Invitational, Air Force Open).
HIGH SCHOOL: Monarch High School...finished fourth in the pole vault at the Colorado state championships as a junior and senior...set Monarch’s school record in that event as a junior...served as team captain during senior year...also competed in gymnastics...won the Front Range league title on the floor exercise...lettered in both sports multiple times...also earned all-state honors three times...received academic honors both semesters of junior year...named Student of the Semester as a sophomore...served as secretary of the National Honor Society...received the school’s Leader of the Pack award, which honors students that excel within their class and are nominated by teachers and staff...member of the Spanish Honor Society...served as a Monarch 360 commissioner (class representative).
PERSONAL: Full name is Heidi Lena Liles...daughter of Douglas and Elizabeth Liles...has one older brother, who graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 2019 and is currently an infantry officer at Fort Benning...also has one younger brother, who is a senior in high school...majoring in legal studies...earning a minor in Spanish...future plans include becoming a pilot...serving as Support Clerk for squadron...also serving as a Coach to a freshman...loves the outdoors and spending time with friends and family...hobbies include fishing, hammocking, attending sports games and seeing professional teams play, watching movies and swimming...completed the Expeditionary Survival Training (EST), Space and RPA programs over the summer...also traveled to Minnesota with roommate and spent time with family at home...started pole vaulting as a freshman in high school and switched from being a right-handed vaulter to a left-handed vaulter as a sophomore...member of Cadet Squadron 32.
