Holum was a four-year letter winner at Air Force. He was a team captain on the 2005-06 NCAA Tournament Team that finished 24-7, which is still the best record in program history. Holum also played for Air Force head coach Joe Scott as a freshman and sophomore.
In his 13 years at the Prep School, Holum helped the program to a 268-93 record, coaching many of the players that would go on to play at Air Force. In addition to his Prep School duties, Holum was a member of the 2019 All-Air Force Men’s Basketball team staff as an assistant coach. He was selected to be the head coach of the 2020 All-Air Force team (All-Services National Championship cancelled).
Upon graduation from the Academy with a degree in Social Science, Holum was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. While on active duty, Holum played for the All-Air Force basketball team, helping to lead the team to a Gold Medal finish in the 2006 All-Services National Championship. In 2008, he played with Athletes in Action. His team went 7-1 playing against collegiate and professional teams in East Asia.
Holum is a graduate of Saucon Valley High School in Hellertown, Pa., where he was a four-time team MVP. He graduated as the leading scorer in school history with 1,643 career points and was a McDonald’s Honorable Mention All-American. He is a member of the Lehigh Valley (PA) High School Basketball Hall of Fame and the Saucon Valley High School Sports Hall of Fame.
Holum and his partner, Kelly Krc, of Colorado Springs have two children, Cody Krc-Holum (11) and Hailey Krc-Holum (8).
