HIGH SCHOOL: Poquoson High School…three-time regional champion, claiming two 1000-meter titles during the indoor season and one 800-meter title during the outdoor season…12-time all-region runner (twice in cross country, five times in indoor track, five times in outdoor track)…qualified to the Virginia state cross country championships every year…nine-time all-state runner in track (five times indoors, four times outdoors)…served as president of the National Honor Society…also served as president of the French Club and co-president of Student-to-Student…graduated first in senior class.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Rex Spakes…father played football at the Apprentice School…has one younger sister…majoring in biology…future plans include becoming a pilot…loves to sing…great-grandfather served in the Air Force…also has an aunt who served in the Army…nickname is Cass…member of Cadet Squadron 23.
