FRESHMAN YEAR | 2019-20: Competed in the 800-meter run six times during the indoor season...clocked a career-best time of 2:21.18 (adjusted for altitude) to finish fourth at the Air Force Team Challenge...earned runner-up honors in collegiate debut at the Air Force Holiday Open (2:25.20a).
HIGH SCHOOL: Kankakee Valley High School...sectional champion in cross country...set the school records in the 400-meter dash, 800-meter run and 5000-meter run...all-state selection in both cross country and track...finished seventh in the 800-meter event at the 2018 Indiana State High School Championships...also played basketball...member of teams that claimed two sectional and four conference championships...salutatorian.
PERSONAL: Full first name is Catherine, but goes by Cat...daughter of Clinton and Rachael Cavinder...has one younger brother...currently undecided on a major...hobbies include biking...member of Cadet Squadron 36.
