FRESHMAN YEAR | 2023-24: Competed in the outdoor hurdles during six meets…recorded the 13th-fastest 400-meter hurdles time in Air Force history during a 62.89 performance at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships…also debuted at No. 24 on the program’s 100-meter hurdles list at that meet (15.26)…ran the sprint leg of the distance medley relay that accounted for the sixth-fastest outdoor time in Air Force history (11:31.24) at the Drake Relays…did not compete indoors…joined the team at the conclusion of the Falcons’ basketball season…academic all-conference…MW Scholar-Athlete.
HIGH SCHOOL: Treynor High School…state champion in the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles…also holds the state record in the 400-meter hurdles…also competed in basketball, cross country and soccer…named to the all-state soccer team…led team to first state tournament…recorded 40 goals and 20 assists in a season…finished fifth at the Iowa state cross country championships…member of the National Honor Society…maintained a 4.0 GPA…ranked first in graduating class.
PERSONAL: Full name is Clara Suzanne Teigland…daughter of Nathan and Andrea Teigland…has one older sister, who ran track and cross country at Northwestern Christian College…majoring in civil engineering…future plans include becoming a pilot…named to the Superintendent’s List for excellence in military, academic and athletic performance…currently serving as a PEER/Coach for squadron…played on the Air Force women’s basketball team as a freshman…earned Jump Wings over the summer after completing Combat Survival Training…also took part in Combat Survival Training…member of Cadet Squadron 31.
