HIGH SCHOOL: 2008 Colorado 5A state champion in the 110-meter hurdles...also finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles at that meet...placed third in the 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles and 400-meter dash as a senior...placed fourth in the decathlon at the 2009 Great Southwest Classic...is the first NHS student to attend USAFA.

PERSONAL: Full name is Cory Michael Engel...son of Kirk and Holly Engel...has one younger brother, Brent, and one younger sister, Jenny...majoring in systems engineering management...future plans include becoming a member of the Air Force World Class Athlete Program...attended the Academy Prep School...was a founding member of the Air Force Prep School Track Team...grandfather was a Marine...member of Cadet Squadron 17.
