FRESHMAN YEAR | 2024-25: Member of the 4x100-meter relay that set an Academy Record time of 45.88 at the Air Force Twilight Open…also ran on the 4x400-meter relays that accounted for the program’s fifth-fastest indoor (3:46.79) and eighth-fastest outdoor (3:47.52) times in program history during scoring finishes at the Mountain West Championship meets…competed in the 200-meter and 400-meter events during both seasons…debuted at No. 24 on the Academy’s all-time standings in both event (26.19 at the Colorado Classic, 58.29 at the MW Indoor Championships) during the indoor season…also posted the 17th-fastest outdoor 200-meter time in program history (25.58) at the Kit Mayer Classic …competed in the long jump and triple jump during the first two meets, before focusing on the sprints…ranked among the program’s all-time standings in the triple jump during both the indoor (36’11½” at Wyoming Power Meet) and outdoor (37’7½” at the Doug Max Invitational) seasons…won that event at the Colorado Classic.

PERSONAL: Full name is Ella Joyce Pears…daughter of Morgan and Nina Pears…father played football at Colorado State University and spent three years in the NFL, as a member of the Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants, while also playing for NFL Europe…has two younger siblings (one sister, one brother)…majoring in biology…future plans include going into medicine…hobbies include hiking, running, and sports…family was on a reality TV show…member of Cadet Squadron 38.
