FRESHMAN YEAR | 2023-24: Competed in the javelin throw during five meets…recorded a career-best throw of 201’10” at the Bobcat Invitational, becoming the 23rd Falcon to surpass the 200-foot mark…finished fourth out of 22 throwers in collegiate debut at the Spank Blasing Invitational (182’7”)…posted top-five finishes in four of five meets…academic all-conference.
HIGH SCHOOL: Andale High School…member of two Kansas 4A state championship teams…also competed on the teams that finished as runner-up the other two years…all-metro honoree…half of the only pair of teammates in the nation to both throw over 200 feet in the javelin (Riley Marx, current thrower at Kansas State)…also competed in football and wrestling…two-time all-metro defensive line…member of four state championship teams…also competed on two state championship wrestling teams…picked up a pair of top-four individual finishes, including state runner-up as a senior...graduated with a 4.041 GPA.
PERSONAL: Son of Brandon and Jenny Meyer…father threw javelin and hammer at Fort Hays State University…has one brother and two sisters…majoring in systems engineering…earning a minor in German…named to the Dean’s List and Athletic Director’s List…currently serving as a squadron supervisor…proud to be from a rural area…hobbies include woodworking, hanging with friends, cheering on the Chiefs on Sundays, and attending family functions and trips…uncle, Lance Marx, was a member of the throws team (hammer) at Wichita State University…originally did not want to do track in high school…completed Combat Survival Training and the Special Warfare Orientational Course over the summer…member of Cadet Squadron 32.
