2007: Named Outstanding Competitor of the men[apos]s team...won the 800-meter run at both the Mountain West Conference indoor and outdoor championships...clocked a time of 1:48.66 at the NCAA outdoor regional meet that broke the Academy[apos]s 13-year-old record...that is also a Junior Class record...all-region honoree...ran the final leg of the sprint medley relay that shattered a 41-year-old Academy record at the Drake Relays...moved into third on the Falcons[apos] all-time indoor 800-meter list with a time of 1:49.54...was a provisional qualifier to the NCAA indoor championships...won the 800-meter event on four occasions...also won the 400-meter dash at the Colorado College Invitational with a season-best time of 48.97... finished seventh in the 800-meter run at the regional meet...won the 800-meter event at the Military Classic...was also a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that won that meet...also competed in the 1500-meter run (4:02.42-adjusted for altitude) during the outdoor season...ran the 400-meter dash (49.99) and mile run (4:46.64a) during the indoor season...earned the team[apos]s Track Athlete of the Week award on three occasions...two-time all-conference honoree...selected as co-captain for the 2008 season.
2006: Earned the team[apos]s 'Most Improved' award...competed in the 800-meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, finishing 25th in the first session...was the runner-up in the 800-meter run at the MWC Championships, earning all-conference honors...posted a career-best time in the 800-meter run at the conference championships (1:48.78-adjusted for altitude)...that time is the second-best in Academy history and a new Sophomore Class record...ran the final leg of the 4x800-meter relay team that set an Academy record (7:27.37)...earned the team[apos]s Runner of the Week on three occasions...ran three relays for the Falcons at Drake...posted the third-best time on the team (48.37) at the Jack Christiansen Invitational...first qualified to the NCAA Regionals at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational with a time of 1:50.37...finished third in the 800-meter run at the Mt. SAC Relays...moved into fifth on the Academy[apos]s all-time 800-meter run (indoor) list with a career-best time of 1:50.78 at Notre Dame...was a part of the two fastest relay teams of the indoor season...won the 800-meter run at Albuquerque...three-time Track Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season...also earned the honor once during the indoor season.
2005: Earned the program[apos]s 'Runner of the Week' award after finishing second in the 800-meter run at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational with a time of 1:52.35...went on to top that time at the Don Kirby Invitational with a 1:52.20 (adjusted for altitude)...that time was third-best mark of the season for the Falcons...tallied a season-best time of 49.24 in the 400-meter dash at the Falcon Open, which was the fourth-best time on the team...was a member of the team[apos]s fastest distance medley relay team, which clocked 10:08.99 to win the Husky Classic...also competed in the 400-meter dash during the indoor season, clocking a season-best time of 51.14 at the Air Force Open.
HIGH SCHOOL: Finished second at the state meet in the 800-meter run...recorded a career-best time of 1:51.03...two-time captain of the track team...also captained the cross country and swimming teams...clocked a personal-best time of 48.99 in the 400-meter dash.
PERSONAL: Son of Robert and Fay Hawkins...has one younger sister Aleah...a behavioral sciences major...plans on becoming a pilot following graduation...donated 14 inches of hair to Locks of Love prior to Basic Cadet Training as a freshman...hobbies include hiking, reading and guitar.
