FRESHMAN YEAR | 2020-21: Competed in the pole vault during eight meets (six indoor, two outdoor)…recorded a career-best clearance of 11’11¾” during the indoor season (Championships at the Peak)…earned a runner-up finish in collegiate debut at the Air Force Holiday Open…posted an outdoor-best height of 11’0¾” at the Air Force Twilight Open.
HIGH SCHOOL: Versailles High School...five-time all-state honoree...recorded a prep-best pole vault clearance of 12’0” to finish third at the Ohio Division II Championships as a sophomore...also earned top-eight finishes at the state meet as a freshman (sixth) and junior (eighth), clearing 11’2” both years...added a pair of all-state accolades as a member of the 4x100-meter relay (sixth in 2017, eighth in 2018)...claimed six conference titles (two in the pole vault, three in the 4x100-meter relay, one in the 4x200-meter relay)...regional runner-up in the pole vault as a freshman, sophomore and junior...also ran on the 4x200-meter relay team that finished second at the 2019 regional meet...two-time district champion in the pole vault...voted Most Valuable Field Athlete...earned a varsity letter in track and field every year of competition...also lettered twice in both swimming and cross country...district qualifier in the 100-yard breaststroke...named to the High Honor Roll...two-time all-Ohio Scholar-Athlete...also earned Scholar-Athlete honors from VHS and the Midwest Athletic Conference as a sophomore and junior.
PERSONAL: Full name is Lucille Elizabeth Prakel...nickname is Lucy...daughter of Michael and Christy Prakel...youngest of five children (three sisters, one brother)...older sister, Mary, ran track at Army West Point, while older brother, Sam, ran track at the University of Oregon...majoring in behavioral science…future plans include becoming a pilot…named to the Dean’s List and Athletic Director’s List...hobbies include playing piano and spending time with her squad and teammates…earned Soaring Wings over the summer, after completing 14 flights...member of Cadet Squadron 39.
