SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2024-25: Raced in two 1500-meter events during the outdoor season…registered a career-best time of 3:51.01 (adjusted for altitude) to finish eighth at the Air Force Twilight Open…did not compete during the indoor season.

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2023-24: Competed in the 1500-meter run during five outdoor meets…clocked a personal-best time of 3:51.97 (adjusted for altitude) at the Kit Meyer Invitational…earned a third-place finish at the Colorado Invitational (3:54.81a)..ran the mile twice during the indoor season…posted a personal-best 4:12.12a to finish third out of 21 runners at the Air Force Last Chance Meet.

HIGH SCHOOL: Bellarmine Preparatory School…member of the varsity cross country and track teams all four years…captured the 4A district title in the 1600-meter run as a senior…clocked a career-best time of 4:17 during that race…also earned a podium finish (15th) at the Washington 4A State Cross Country Championships that year…recorded personal-best times of 15:59 (5K cross country) and 9:30 (3200-meter run) as a senior…served as an officer of the National Honor Society…Student Body representative all four years…graduated with a 3.99 unweighted GPA…received the AOPA James C Ray Foundation High School Student Flight Scholarship and the Boeing Museum of Flight/Frank and Betty Houston Flight Scholarship.

PERSONAL: Full name is Roman Pagel Thomas…son of David and Annie Thomas…both parents are retired Air Force…has one older brother, Noah, who graduated from the Academy in 2023……majoring in aeronautical engineering…future plans include becoming a pilot…named to the Dean’s List and Athletic Director’s List…serving as an Element Leader…already has a private pilot’s license…hobbies include aviation, playing guitar and violin, hiking, skiing, swimming, wakeboarding, golfing and solving the Rubik’s Cube…is a “super picky eater”…traveled to Luke AFB, Ariz., over the summer for Operation Air Force…also completed the Cadet Warfighter Instructor Course (CWIC), served on the support staff, and went to Waterworld with the boys…member of Cadet Squadron 35.
