SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2023-24: Competed in seven meets, racing every distance from 1500 to 10,000 meters…raced the 3000-meter run twice during the indoor season, posting a season-best 10:42.78 (adjusted for altitude) at the Potts Invitational…competed in the 1500-meter run twice outdoors, posting a season-best 5:11.32a at the Colorado Invitational…also raced the mile, 5000-meter and 10,000-meter races once.
FRESHMAN YEAR | 2022-23: Competed in the 1500-meter run four times during the outdoor season…clocked a personal-best mark of 5:16.46 (adjusted for altitude) at the Tom Benich Invitational…competed in the 3000-meter run twice during the indoor season, posting a personal-best 11:07.71a at the Ralph Lindeman Invitational.

PERSONAL: Full name is Beatrice Elizabeth Howell Shea…daughter of William and Beth Ann Shea…father served in the Navy…both played sports in college – mother was a coxswain for the club rowing team at Purdue University and father played club rugby at Old Dominion University…is an only child…earning a double major in applied mathematics and meteorology…future plans include becoming a weather officer, while running professionally…serving as the Training NCOIC…named to the Commandant’s List and Dean’s List as a sophomore…hobbies include caving, exploring national parks and horseback riding…trained in classical ballet, pointe and other styles of dance for 15 years…grandfather, John E. North, served in the U.S. Army Air Corps…great uncle, Richard T. Shea, is a 1952 graduate and former distance runner at Army West Point…spent three weeks interning at the Sandia National Lab in New Mexico over the summer as part of the Cadet Summer Research Program…compared the capabilities of ground- and space-based optical lightning sensors during CSRP, with results to be presented at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) conference in December…also traveled to Incirlik AB, Turkey, for Ops (first time traveling abroad) and was a member of the Support Staff during Basic Cadet Training, serving cadets at Metal Mitch’s during their time in Jack’s Valley…member of Cadet Squadron 14.
