Before Air Force: As a senior, local newcomer and Peyton HS alumna AJ Mannering was one of the highest scoring players in the country while leading the state of Colorado in points per game (32.3), three-pointers made (104) and steals (213) in her senior season ... With Mannering, Peyton went 61-17 overall and 7-3 in playoff games, including a runner-up finish in the CHSAA 3A State Tournament her senior year ... In a monstrous career-defining performance, Mannering put up a 51-point, 12-assist, 15-steal triple-double, powering Peyton in a 100-24 win over Rye HS (Feb. 12, 2024) ... Shot 36 percent from three as a senior ... Averaged 8.5 steals per game as a senior and 6.8 for her career ... While at the prep school, Mannering averaged 13 points and eight rebounds per contest.
