Captain Christina E. Scales was announced to the Air Force women's basketball staff on August 3, 2022.
Scales serves as the Cadet Wing liaison for the women’s basketball staff, overseeing the academic progress of the team and assisting in producing Military Performance Appraisals for cadet athletes. Additionally, Scales directs operations for the team, organizing travel, lodging, other team functions, as well as functioning as an assistant coach, participating in daily practices and workouts as well as prepping film and scouting reports for games throughout the season.
Scales attended the United States Air Force Academy, were she graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Management. Christina Scales, formerly Christina Gamble, played in 22 career games as a player for the Falcons from 2012 to 2016. Scales played in a career-high 18 games during the 2014-15 season, including five starts. She held the title of team co-captain during the 2015-16 season.
Following graduation from the United States Air Force Academy, Scales completed Undergraduate Cyber Training in April of 2017 at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. She was then assigned to MacDill AFB, Florida and served as the Assistant Director of Operations. She most recently served as an Action Officer in the Governance Division of Air Force Global Strike Command at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana.
Additionally, she served as the Program Element Monitor for the Minimum Essential Emergency Communications Network for Global-ASNT increment 1. Before leaving Barksdale AFB, she served as the divisional executive officer during the stand down of the Air Force Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Center and the stand-up of the Air Force Global Strike NC3 Strategic Plans, Programs, and Requirements Division.
