Went 9-9 overall in singles competition … Opened the season with a 3-1 record and runner-up finish in the Delta flight of the sixth annual Bedford Cup in the Mountains … Earned a straight-set win over Colorado’s Lera Alexin in Air Force’s dual opener (Jan. 17).
Freshman | 2023-24:
As a freshman, competed in 18 singles and doubles matches, winning three singles and four doubles … Won her first career dual singles match on March 16, defeating CSU’s Logan Voeks in straight sets … In open doubles, opened her career with a 3-1 record, going 2-1 at the Falcons’ own Bedford Cup and winning her first career match with partner Arianna Van Houweling, downing Houston’s Blanca Cortijo Parreno/Nina Skoric.
High School/Prep: Was back-to-back California Interscholastic Federation divisional Champion and Seaview League Champion in 2021 and 2022… Was two-time bracket winner and finished once as finalist in the UTR Pro Tennis Tour Newport Beach 25K … Graduated as valedictorian of her high school class with a 4.5 GPA and was valedictorian at California Preparatory Academy … Was a California Scholarship Federation officer and will serve as a lifetime member … Will pursue studies in both cyber science and Russian … Wanting to give back to her country “as an Air Force service member just as her dad did, and to work as a cyber security specialist, helping protect America from online threats” is what brought her to USAFA … Goes by her nickname, “Gia.”
