The Air Force volleyball suffered consecutive losses on the road, falling to UNLV and San Diego State. The two defeats were costly, as the matches were conference games. The losses drop the Falcons to 0-3 in the Mountain West. In the opening match of the road trip, the Falcons fell 3-0 (2-15, 10-15, 9-15) to UNLV. It was the Rebels first victory of the season. Freshman Delavane Diaz recorded 21 kills and nine digs in the loss, but it wasn't enough to overcome three Rebels' players in double figures in kills and 41 assists by setter Maria Julia Goes. Against the Aztecs, Diaz again led the Falcons in kills with 10, but no other Falcon was in double figures in kills, as the team lost 3-0 (6-15, 10-15, 7-15). Four Aztecs players finished the match in double figures in kills, as the team recorded a solid hitting percentage of .345. The Falcons finished with a .120 hitting percentage. The Falcons (6-8, 0-3) look to rebound this weekend at the Academy, when they host Wyoming and Colorado State. The Falcons face nationally-ranked Rams (3) Thursday, Oct. 5, followed by the Cowboys Saturday, Oct. 7.
