Ben Leestma Named Mountain West Golfer of the Month

Air Force senior golfer Ben Leestma (Houston, Texas) was named Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for October after four solid performances totaling 852 strokes over 12 rounds and a 71.8 stroke average.
Leestma won three of the four tournaments last month, becoming the first Falcon in school history to win three consecutive tournaments, while also posting single round Academy records with a 66 in two of those outings.
His streak started at the Falcon Antigua Invitational where he carded an all-time Air Force 54-hole record 207 (70-66-71) on the way to the individual title. In his next tournament, he shot a three-round 214 (72-71-71) at the Service Academies Classic in Dallas, Texas, to capture the individual crown for the fourth straight year. Leestma's third title came at the Louisiana Tech Invitational with a 54-hole total of 210 (66-70-74), helping pace Air Force to a third place team finish.
Leestma's currently tied for third in the MWC with a 71.8 average this season.
