Toth and Ihlenfeld will each swim in two events at the meet held in College Station, Tex., on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 23-24. Toth will compete in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events, while Ihlenfeld qualified for the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke races.
Toth smashed the school record with his qualifying time of 19.99 seconds in the 50 freestyle at the Mountain West Conference Championships on Feb. 15. The previous school record was 20.17 seconds set by Trevor Kildare in 1995. Toth also broke his own school record in the 100 freestyle with a time of 43.79 seconds.
Ihlenfeld won the MWC Championship in the 100 breaststroke with his NCAA qualifying time of 54.70 seconds, breaking his own school record of 55.29. He also defended his 200 breaststroke conference championship by becoming the first Falcon to swim the race in under two minutes with a time of 1:58.67.
Air Force has not sent a swimmer to the NCAA Championships since Matt Davis qualified in 1995.
