Volleyball Team Grabs First Victory of Season

ORLANDO - (Sept 1) Freshman Tiffany Bishop recorded 10 kills to help lead the Air Force volleyball team to its first victory of the season, as the Falcons swept Appalachian State in three games (30-26, 30-20, 30-25) to win the second game of the Central Florida Tournament.
Bishop, the only Falcon in double figures in kills, knocked 10 kills on 13 attempts for an impressive .692 hitting percentage. Sophomore Brittany Edmonds had nine kills, increasing her team-leading total to 19. The team finished the game with a .279 hitting percentage with 35 kills on 86 attacks and just 11 errors.
"The team played with much more confidence than they did in last night's loss to Florida International," said head coach Penny Lucas-White. "They got their nervousness out and were able to concentrate on volleyball
The Falcons will face Central Florida at 7 p.m. EST in the tournament's final game.
